When starting the organisation, we gave careful consideration to our aims and mission
statement. We contemplated the important features within these aims and what the rationale
was behind them. To promote our aims and to support our intended outcomes for the future,
the simple phrase Learn, Develop and Grow was created.

Children, young people and adults have opportunities within their lives to ‘learn’ – at school,
college, university, training or in employment. We hope to give all our members the
opportunity to learn further by developing their interests in a safe and nurturing environment.
The flexible child, young person and adult led planning for the running and organising of the
group enables members to take responsibility for enhancing personal learning in an informal
and enjoyable way.
To ‘develop’ refers to the holistic development of children, young people and adults.
Members are supported to reach and achieve their potential by experiencing activities and
resources which allow the development and mastery of skills. By giving members the tools to
be curious, imaginative and investigative empowers them to try new activity, to experience
success and to ultimately acquire new skills which take them to a new level of personal
accomplishment.
The term ‘grow’ refers to the emotional, social and wellbeing element of our organisation,
which develops individual confidence, self-esteem and independence skills. It celebrates
personal success and achievement and offers children, young people and adults the
opportunity to experience personal feelings of self-worth and of being a valued and
respected member of a group which is inclusive, fair and equitable. To grow and develop
skills and attributes which contribute to future life chances allows children, young people and
adults to maximise their prospects.
